Hand crafted classical guitars and stringed instrument restoration.

Sachar Amos is a professional luthier, hand crafting fine quality classical guitars and restoring guitar and violin family instruments.

By making and restoring instruments to the highest standards, Sachar creates instruments that cater for the needs of the student through to the accomplished guitar player.

Sachar has worked and studied with many of Melbourne’s best luthiers including John Ferwerda Violins, Philip Carson Crickmore, Jim Matheas, Maton Guitars, Tim Kill, Atelier Puglisi, Lennox Holt and Richard Howell. Since 2002 Sachar has successfully operated his own professional making & restoration workshop from his home based studio in The Basin, 35 km east of Melbourne CBD.

Today Sachar makes concert guitars under his own name. He also makes fractional size student instruments for Suzuki guitar teacher Zeah Reordan under the name of Southern cross guitars. In 2011 Sachar also began making the prelude series instruments for the well known and highly regarded luthier Richard Howell.

"I am proud of the instruments that I make, knowing that each guitar contains the best of my knowledge, attitude and effort to create an instrument that is highly rewarding for the player and listener. I invite all enquiries regarding my guitars and restorations and I look forward to speaking with you soon".  Sachar Amos
